About uS
Huey’s Books is a veteran owned, self-publishing company, that strives to create children’s books about Military Aviation using real missions conducted helping our communities.
Our mission is to use children’s books to educate kids and adults about Aviation and how it uses military aircraft to perform some amazing missions.
In August 2023, Huey’s Books partnered with Sweetgrass Books to help with printing, distribution and marketing. With Sweetgrass Books’ help, we hope to be available in more stores and libraries!
Patricia osborn,
author
Owner of Huey’s Books
Patricia Osborn created Huey’s Books to share her love of aviation with the next generation—starting with her niece, Eddy. Inspired by her own experiences, Patricia wanted to show young readers how MEDEVAC missions work and how the Army National Guard uses aircraft every day to serve communities here at home.
An aviator on both the military and civilian sides, Patricia holds an Airline Transport Pilot Multi-Engine certificate, Commercial Helicopter and Instrument ratings, and a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science with a specialization in Human Factors in Aviation. Her unique background brings authenticity and heart to every story she tells.
Patricia is the author of three books in the Huey’s Books series: The Ambulance That Could Fly, The Fire Truck That Could Fly, and The Spy That Could Fly, all designed to inspire curiosity, courage, and a love of flight in young readers.
The views expressed by patricia osborn are her own and do not reflect the official policy or position of the Army national guard, Department of Defense, or the U.S. Government

Morrell Cravens,

Illustrator of The Ambulance That Could Fly, Morrell has always had a fascination with aviation. His playful style was influenced by how-to-draw aircraft books from his childhood, and inspired by early Japanese cartoons, such as Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets.
Creating art with both traditional and digital tools, Morrell has been commissioned by US Military aviation squadrons, pilots, and passionate aircraft lovers all around the world.
Always wanting the most accurate detail in his art, including super-fun “little dude” pilots and crew, Morrell strives to bring joy and nostalgia to every piece he creates.
